Wesley Walter Paulsen, 77

Wesley Walter Paulsen, passed away on July 15, 2022, at the age of 77. Wesley was born on September 11, 1944, to Walter and Luella (Conover) Paulsen at Bud Hospital in Roseau, MN. Wesley was raised on the family farm in Greenbush with his sisters, Karen and Paulette, and brother, Peter. Wesley graduated from Greenbush Public School in 1962. During his younger years, Wesley enjoyed summer activities of baseball and softball as well as riding around on a motorcycle once he had his license. In the winter, sledding at Bemis Hill or skiing behind the car were favorites. As always, farming and caring for the livestock took top priority for the family. After high school, Wesley spent some time working on a dairy farm in Auburn, Washington, before returning home to farm with his father, Walter. Wesley married Bonnie Kluzak on May 15, 1971. They had two children, Kayleen and Wayne, who were raised on the same family farm that Wesley grew up on. They worked the dairy farm for the next 20+ years. In the mid-90s, they sold the dairy cows and quit milking. Wesley continued to raise hay and grain for the remaining animals. Wesley enjoyed socializing with friends in town and at auctions. He was always willing to help out various neighbors and friends with their farming needs, and he greatly appreciated all assistance he received in his later years in working the fields. Wesley served on Barnett Township and worked at various businesses over the years including Polaris Industries in Roseau, Central Boiler in Greenbush, and CHS Elevator until his retirement in October 2021. Wesley is survived by: his wife, Bonnie (Kluzak) Paulsen; his daughter, Kayleen (Kevin) Longworth; his sister, Paulette (Marlo) Nelson; granddaughters, Jordynn and Ella Longworth; great-granddaughter, Lillian Starry; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Wesley was preceded in death by his son, Wayne; parents, Walter and Luella (Conover) Paulsen; sister, Karen (Jim) Wagner; brother, Peter; stepfather, Ray- mond Gregerson; In-laws, Thomas and Laura Kluzak; and grandparents, Lars Peter and Caroline Paulsen and John and Ella Conover. A visitation for Wesley will be held at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau from 5:00-7:00pm on Sunday July 24, 2022. A Memorial Service will happen the following day on Monday July 25, 2022, at 11:00am at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau with a visitation an hour prio
