Alan M. Adamski, 52

Alan M. Adamski, 52, of East Grand Forks, passed away unexpectedly with loved ones by his side on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Altru Hospital of Grand Forks. Alan Maurice Adamski was born November 12, 1969 in Greenbush, MN to Joseph Robert and Esther Annie (Dolney) Adamski. At the age of 6, he moved to East Grand Forks with foster parents Odin and Jean Sorteberg where he grew up and graduated from East Grand Forks Senior High in 1991. Alan worked at the ODC later the DAC and loved cleaning Sacred Heart Catholic Church and also worked at the Olive Garden. The Listen Center was where Alan liked to spend his free time. He also loved dancing, paperwork, music, movies, sports, especially watching his uncle Rick Johnson at the Greenbush Race Park. He also participated in bowling with the Special Olympics. For over the last 10 years, Alan has lived at the Bygland Group Home of East Grand Forks where he was lovingly cared for by the staff. He is survived by foster brother Glen Sorteberg of East Grand Forks; sisters MaryAnn Johnson of Greenbush, Audrey (Palmer) Rud of Standquist, Zeff (Tom) Puppe of TRF, Teresa Hanson of TRF, Patty Hillestad of Erskine, Roberta “Bert” Hesse of Grand Forks, Josephine Adamski of Brooks, Adeline (Myron) Nelson of Strandquist; brothers Joe Adamski of TRF, Philip Adamski of Grand Forks, Jerry Adamski of Brooks, and Lloyd Adamski of Janesville, WI; uncle Ted Dolney of Estacade, OR; aunt June Hagen of Badger, MN; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Esther, foster parents Odin and Dorothy (Jean) Sorteberg, sister Esther Adamski, grand- ma Dorothy Johnson, grandpa Bert Johnson, grandparents Joe and Rosalia Dolney, uncles Rick Johnson, and LuVerne Hagen, and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
