Obituary/Karl Frigaard, 64

Karl Frigaard, 64, died of cancer on October 10, 2026, at the Dakota Regional Medical Center, Cooperstown, ND.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, Cooperstown, ND.  There will be a friendship gathering in QPC Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2026.

Karl was born in the Griggs County Hospital on August 27, 1962, son of Gordon (Boosty) and Eugenia (Duna) Frigaard.  After graduating high school in Cooperstown, ND in 1981, he enrolled in the cook and chef course at ND State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND.  Upon completing the two-year curriculum, he transferred to the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, North Dakota, and worked there for three years after receiving a bachelor’s degree.  Returning to Cooperstown, ND, he was employed by Dean Somerville at Dynamics 360 for a couple of years before going to work in Minnesota.  He lived in Warren and later Greenbush, Minnesota, for twenty years, working for the Northwest Minnesota Regional Community Action Authority.  He later worked in Rugby, ND, retiring in 2023 and coming back to Cooperstown, ND.

He is survived by his mother; sister, Lisa Frigaard, in Cooperstown, ND, and brother, Mark Frigaard, in New Brighton, MN

His father died in 2005
