Obituary/Curtiss Wayne Johnson, 89

Curtiss Wayne Johnson was born in Greenbush, MN May 21, 1937 to William (Bill) and Otelia (Tillie) Coltom Johnson.  He attended a one room school in rural Strathcona until 8th grade, graduating from Greenbush High School in 1955.  .

On August 30, 1958 he married Clydene Anderson at Bethel Lutheran Church in Greenbush.  The couple started married life in Minneapolis, MN for a few years before moving to a farm south of Strathcona.  Curtiss worked at Arctic Cat for many years while also farming.  After retiring from Arctic Cat, he worked at Marvin Windows until retirement age.  Curtis was a life long member of Gustav Adolph Lutheran Church in Strathcona where he served on the council for many years.  He moved from the farm to Elderbush in Greenbush, where he lived until April of 2026.

Curtiss liked to hunt, fish, play Uno and being with his grandchildren.  In younger years he liked snowmobiling, switching to riding his 4-wheeler in later years.

 Curtiss passed away August 13, 2026 at the age of 89, at the Glenn Memory Care Center in Buffalo, MN, after a short illness.

 Curtiss is survived by his son, Chad (Angie) Johnson of Becker, MN; Daughter, Cheryl Stacy, of Hazard, KY; Grandchildren: Kjerstyn Stacy, Wesley Stacy, Kalley Johnson and Cody Johnson; Sisters-in-Law: Dorothy Anderson and Maxine Anderson; and several other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Tille Johnson; his wife, Clydene in 2014; Two brothers, Lester and Jerome; parents-in-law, Oel and Marie Anderson; Brothers-in-law, Odeen Anderson and Merlin Anderson; Sister-in-law, Marlene Johnson;  son-in-law, Danny Stacy and several aunts, uncles ,cousins, nieces & nephew. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Collins Funeral Chapel in Greenbush, MN.

 Visitation will be held after 5PM Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at Collins Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to services.

Interment services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Strathcona, MN following services.
