Obituary/Jeanette, “Jeanne” Wahl

Jeanette, “Jeanne” Wahl
On the afternoon of May the 7th 2026, Jeanette, “Jeanne” Wahl peacefully passed away and was greeted by her dear sister Bonnie, her beloved horse, Julie, and her faithful canine companion, Bunny. Together they rode off into the eternal sunset.
Jeanne, was born in the year 1940 in Greenbush, Minnesota, to Victor and Edna Wahl. She was raised on the family farm with her 5 siblings, where music, hard work, and shenanigans were a way of life. They weren’t called the “Wahlnuts” for nothing! Fun, loyalty, and a strong family bond hold true to this day.
Leaving the family farm at the age of 18, Jeanne set off for a life of adventure beginning in Alaska. She married, had three children, and still managed to work cattle round-ups, experience cross continental divide rides, create a successful business making beautiful deer skin clothing for 30 years (Hangin J Custom Leather), live a split residency between Arizona and her beloved Montana, maintain a small ranch, and raise her horses.
Jeanne was a people magnet. Her family loved to come and stay with her wherever she lived, whether it be an Airstream on a ranch or an art studio in the desert. Her friends loved her company. Complete strangers sought her out to talk to her. She had a spark and a positive outlook on life that was infectious and will live on through every single person she touched.
She had an artist’s soul, and she appreciated the talent she saw in everyone, including her many grandchildren. Her encouragement and guidance to find individual creative outlets was inspiring to us all.
A traveler with a boundless curiosity about the world, Jeanne wanted to experience it all, whether it was by horse, pick-up, motorhome, tent, plane or boat. She was fearless in her cowboy hat and boots and explored the world on her terms.
Jeanne was a daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was our matriarch, our glue, and our touchstone. She was proud of the clan she created. And we are proud of her.
The world is a less bright place with out her in it, but those of us left behind are entrusted with her legacy of filling it with the joy she filled in us. And those are some pretty big cowgirl boots to fill.
Happy trails, Jeanne Bean. Until we meet again.
Jeanne is predeceased by her parents, and her sister Bonita Brazier. She leaves behind her children Kimberly (Duane) Kemna, Brent (Lisa) Crosser and Tammy (Michael) Fann, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, her siblings Delphin (Samantha) Wahl, Delaine (Everette) Shill, Layton (Brenda) Wahl and LaRae (Franklin) Frislie
