Dennis Conrad Wahl was born on April 19, 1943 in Roseau, MN to Erling and Helen (Sonsteng) Wahl of Greenbush, MN. He grew up on the home place and has lived on or near the home most of his life except for a 16-month stint in the US Army. He served in Vietnam as a mechanic. 
He attended Island Home Dist 22, Haug Leo School, and Greenbush High School. He was baptized and confirmed at Oiland Free Lutheran Church and was a life-long member. He was also a member of the VFW.
Dennis had various jobs throughout his life. He worked in Montana for an uncle, ran Caterpillar north of Roseau, welded for Martin Johnson, and raced for Arctic Co. In 1971, he opened a welding shop with his brother Douglas, Wahl Bros. Repair. In 1977, Douglas and Dennis opened Wahl Bros. Bait in Greenbush. They also had ice fishing houses on Lake of the Woods for a few years. In the 1980’s he went on his own welding until the first part of 2025. He enjoyed reading, hunting and fishing, especially with his son and grandkids, on Lake of the Woods and the Roseau River, and just being outdoors in general. 
Dennis married RaeAnn (Lorenson) Wahl on June 18, 1977 at Grace Evangelical Church in Strathcona. They raised 2 children - Jeremy and Jessica.
 He is survived by wife RaeAnn, son Jeremy, daughter Jessica, and five grandchildren - Halle, Gavin, Bjorn, Henry, and Erick. Two brothers - Durmont (Dyann) Wahl, David (Jill) Wahl, sister Debby Waage, many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
 He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother - Douglas, and brother-in-law Gerald Waage.
 Dennis passed away April 29, 2026 at his home with his wife, children, and grandchildren at his side.
 Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Oiland Lutheran Church of rural Greenbush.
 Visitation will be held after 5PM, Tuesday, at the church with a prayer service at 7PM.  Visitation will also be held one hour prior to services at the church.
Interment services will be held at Oiland Lutheran Cemetery at a later date with military honors accorded by the Greenbush American Legion Post #88
