Obituary/Lorraine Elizabeth Mlodzik, 88
Lorraine Elizabeth Mlodzik was born on August 21, 1937 in Greenbush to John and Elizabeth (Pietruszewski) Mlodzik. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith at St. Aloysius Church of Leo, Mn. She attended school in the Leo community and graduated from Greenbush High School in 1954. She was united in marriage to Rafine Blawat at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Leo on June 28, 1955 and the two made their home and farmed in the Leo community. In 1957 they moved to Milwaukee where Lorraine worked in the Steno Pool at McGraw Edison Co. They returned to the farm in 1960 which was homesteaded by Rafine’s grandfather, Frank Blawat. They received a Roseau Co. Clean Farm Award in 1974 and a Century Farm Award in 2005. Lorraine was a bookkeeper at the Greenbush High School for 34 years, retiring December 31. 1993. She was a past member of the St Aloysius Catholic Church where she was bookkeeper and treasurer for many years and was a member of the Holy Rosary Society. She was a present member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Lorraine loved to read, enjoyed gardening and crafts. Lorraine and Rafine also enjoyed their time at their cottage at Springsteel at the Lake of the Woods and their winter months at Marco Island, Florida until 2016.
She is survived by her brother Leonard (Rosie) Mlodzik of Chisholm, Mn, sister Alice M. Blawat of Greenbush, sister-in-law Alice A. Blawat of Greenbush, and good friend Bonnie Speltz of Winona Mn. Nieces and nephews. Bill Blawat (Barb), Brian Blawat (Nancy) Brad Blawat (Cathi), Barbie Blawat, Sharon Frank (Erich), Arizona, Vicki Ragogna, (California) Dale(Jennifer)Pulczinski (NC), Scott Pulczinski (Ann) of AZ, Steve Mlodzik, Kevin Mlodzik, Chris Baade, Char Wong, Lynn (Craig) Erickson, Rodney Anderson(Michelle), Janice Stein, Dennis Pelowski, Robert(Lynette) Blawat, Cynthia (Dan) Margo , and many great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband :Rafine, parents John and Elizabeth Mlodzik, niece Becky Blawat Johnston(friend Jeff Taylor). Sisters Ann Heltne of Winona and Bernadine Pulczinski. Brothers-in-law, Rudy Blawat, Floyd Blawat, Merle Anderson of North S Paul, Leroy Heltne of Winona Mn, Philip Pelowski, and Leroy Pulczinski. Sisters-in-law Loreta Pelowski, and Delores Anderson of North St.Paul.
A Memorial service will be held at 10:30AM, Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Greenbush.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.
Interment services will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
