Carlyle Garvin Pederson, 90

Carlyle Garvin Pederson was born on November 4, 1932, in Hereim township, Roseau County near Greenbush to Jens and Edna (Anderson) Pederson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Greenbush and attended school and graduated from Greenbush High School. Following school, he attended the University of Minnesota where he graduated from with a BA degree. Carlyle entered the Air Force in 1950 and served in many locations before being discharged in 1954. He was united in marriage to Inocencia “Sing Sing” Chiu on September 8, 1979, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Greenbush and the two made their home in Greenbush raising their son Martin. Sing Sing passed away October 18, 2013, and Carlyle continued to make his home in Greenbush until entering LifeCare Greenbush Manor in February of 2015 where he resided until his passing on November 22, 2022, at the age of 90.
Carlyle was a member of the Greenbush American Legion, Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He was active in the Greenbush Boy Scouts and very much enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his son Martin of Fargo, ND, along with his nieces Annette (Jesse) Graff, Alice (Randy) Jenson both of Greenbush, Kathy (Ted) Kuznia of Chandler, AZ, and Mary Duray of Mercer Island, WA, 3 nephews Paul (Sandy) Duray, Mike (Mickie) Duray, and Jon Duray all of Greenbush, along with many other relatives.
He is preceded by His wife Inocencia, parents, sister Arlaine Duray, niece Susan Duray and brothers Kendall and Vernoy Pederson, nephew Tom Duray and Kerry Pederson, brother-in-law Syl, and sister-in law Edna Mae.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00AM, Monday, November 28, 2022 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Fr. George Noel presiding. Jeanne Novacek was the Organist playing for Song Leader Darcy Hasson. Michelle Kern was the Reader. Carlyle’s Casket Bearers were the Knights of Columbus members.
Visitation was held one hour prior to services at the church.
Military Honors were accorded by the Greenbush American Legion.
Interment services will be held at Pauli Lutheran Cemetery of rural Greenbush in the spring.
